Gates won't reopen for Masters practice round; badge refunds available for patrons, chance to buy for 2026

Apr. 7—Play has been suspended for the day at the Masters Tournament.

Due to inclement weather conditions, Augusta National Golf Club suspended Monday's practice round and evacuated the grounds April 7 at 11:25 a.m.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Augusta National announced that it would not reopen because of the forecast which is calling for more rain.

Purchasers of Monday practice round tickets will be sent refunds in May and will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase 2026 Monday practice round tickets. Further information will be included at the time of the refund, the club said.

"We are disappointed our patrons could not fully enjoy today's practice round, but the safety of everyone at Augusta National is our highest priority and was the determining factor in the decision to cancel," said Fred Ridley, chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. "We look forward to welcoming back our Monday patrons next year, as well as celebrating a wonderful 89th Masters Tournament ahead of us this week."
