Freshman Colorado State men's basketball player announces intention to transfer

Colorado State Rams forward Jaden Steppe, left, has announced his intention to transfer.

Freshman forward Jaden Steppe has announced he intends to transfer from the Colorado State men's basketball program.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Steppe played in a limited reserve role in 2024-25, appearing in seven games for 12 total minutes.

Steppe was rated by ESPN as a four-star recruit out of Tualatin High School in Oregon, where he helped lead his team to back-to-back state titles.

He announced his intention to transfer Monday on X. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Steppe entering the portal isn't an unexpected move and a potential role for him as a Ram next season was uncertain. He's the second CSU player in the portal, following starting point guard Kyan Evans.
