We have seen plenty of former players transition from playing the game on the field to talking about it off of it. One of those players is former Steelers quarterback and future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger. This week on his podcast, he discussed the Aaron Rodgers saga and how he thinks it will end.
Roethlisberger said, "I think Aaron (Rodgers) is still secretly holding out for Minnesota, which is why he hasn't signed with the Steelers. Why else would you go throw with D.K. (Metcalf) and be working out and put out blast to everybody that you are throwing to these guys but you won't sign. . .I think that he thinks Minnesota is just more complete, closer to winning a Super Bowl."
Roethlisberger understands the Steelers and their roster, as it is what he talks about most on his show. The theory isn't a bad one as it is puzzling that he would throw with Metcalf and make sure everyone knew about it when he makes it a point to keep things close to the chest.
As we have seen in recent weeks, the Vikings are seemingly happy with J.J. McCarthy leading this team, so if it is Rodgers who is waiting, he may want to get comfortable.
