Steelers miss out on another potential QB opportunity

According to multiple reports including from NFL reporter Dianna Russini, the New England Patriots have traded backup quarterback Joe Milton III to the Dallas Cowboys. Terms of the trade include Milton and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft for the Cowboys fifth-round pick in the same draft. This gives the Cowboys not only a viable backup for Dak Prescott but could potentially be their quarterback of the future as he learns the system.

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to sit and hope that Aaron Rodgers will give them the last rose like some kind of NFL version of The Bachelor. No one is saying Milton wins the Steelers a Super Bowl in 2025 but for a fifth-round pick, he's definitely as good an option as any quarterback the Steelers could pick in the draft.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, the Steelers were one of the teams interested in Milton. He also reported that one of the teams made a better offer but New England went with Dallas because that is where Milton wanted to be traded. No one would be shocked if it came out that the best offer was from the Steelers but Milton didn't want to play there.
