Fantasy baseball two-start pitcher rankings: Corbin Burnes makes Diamondbacks debut

Fantasy baseball season is just getting started, but every little advantage gained throughout the season can ultimately add up to a championship.

So in an effort to help you get the jump in setting your fantasy lineup, we're taking a look at the best two-start pitcher options for the upcoming week.

Things are a little wacky in Week 2 (or whatever your league's commissioner service is calling the period from March 31 to April 6) because we didn't get a full opening week. For that reason, many of the best starting pitchers in the game won't be part of this week's two-start lineup.

Normally, one of the most expensive free agent signings wouldn't have to wait until the fifth game of the season to make his first appearance. But new Diamondbacks right-hander Corbin Burnes wanted to remain on a regular, every-fifth-day schedule, even into the regular season, so he'll make his D'backs debut Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.

That matchup might seem scary, but Burnes will get the Nationals next.

Corbin Burnes signed a six-year, $210 million free agent contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks this past offseason.

Meanwhile, young lefty Cade Povich made the Orioles rotation with a strong spring and will look to keep the momentum going. The Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez would be atop this list if not for a late-week matchup against the destructive Dodgers.

  • Cade Povich, Orioles (vs. Red Sox, at Royals)
  • Cristopher Sanchez, Phillies (vs. Rockies, vs. Dodgers)
