Before the start of Sunday's final round at the 2025 Masters, the buzz around Augusta National was in the air.
Would Rory McIlroy, who started the final round with a two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau, finally win the green jacket and complete the career Grand Slam, or, as he did at the 2024 U.S. Open, would DeChambeau deny McIlroy and win another major?
At the same time, Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Aberg, Justin Rose, Corey Conners, Patrick Reed and a host of world-class players were not giving up and were hunting both McIlroy and DeChambeau.
In the end, it was McIlroy (finally!) in a playoff over Rose as the sun set into the western sky and, as you'd expect, social media lit up immediately.
