Rory McIlroy is the Masters first $4 million man after winning green jacket in 2025

Masters money keeps a changin'. In 2025, the total purse and first-place prize was bumped up once again, marking the fourth straight year there's been an increase.

Rory McIlroy, who donned the green jacket for the first time Sunday, earned himself a bank deposit of $4.2 million. He's the first $4 million man in tournament history.

Rory McIlroy celebrates with the green jacket after winning the 2025 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club.

A year ago, Scottie Scheffler won $3.6 million for his second win, but it was Jon Rahm in 2023 who was the first $3 million man ($3.24 million, to be exact).

Who was the first $2 million man? That's none other than Tiger Woods, who claimed that honor in 2019 when he won his fifth green jacket. Woods was also the first Masters champ to take home a $1 million first-place, doing so in 2005 with a $1.26 million check for his fourth green jacket.
