Falcons to sign QB-turned-TE Feleipe Franks, per report
After a quiet start to NFL free agency, the Atlanta Falcons made arguably their biggest offseason addition on Wednesday when they signed safety Jordan Fuller. The former Rams standout played three seasons under Falcons head coach Raheem Morris in Los Angeles.
We don't expect the team to make any other major signings, the team is expected to bring back a familiar face. According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter D. Orlando Ledbetter, the Falcons are hosting quarterback-turned-tight end Feleipe Franks on Thursday.
“He’s coming in to sign (on Thursday),” a source told Ledbetter.

The team originally signed Franks as an undrafted free agent in 2021. As a rookie, the former Arkansas Razorback appeared in nine games for Atlanta, mostly as a wild-cat QB. Frank only attempted one pass that season, which was intercepted, and rushed for six yards on three attempts.
Former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith converted Franks to tight end in 2022, but he didn't make an NFL roster in 2023. Last season, Franks appeared in 16 games for the Carolina Panthers, making one catch on three targets for 12 receiving yards.
Atlanta has lost more players than it has added to this point. On Tuesday, former Falcons linebacker Nate Landman signed with the Los Angeles Rams. Then on Wednesday, wide receiver Rondale Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
