Falcons to host Memphis linebacker on pre-draft visit
The Atlanta Falcons are unlikely to sign any free agents in the month leading up to the 2025 NFL draft, but they still have time to get a closer look at some different prospects. According to the Draft Network's Justin Melo, the Falcons will host Memphis linebacker Chandler Martin on a pre-draft visit.
Martin is not a household name but has shown plenty of NFL traits during his time with the Tigers. While he was not invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Martin impressed at Memphis' pro day. The Falcons only have five draft picks and two are in the seventh round, so they're rightfully doing their due diligence.
"Martin is violent at the point of attack when asked to take on blocks, showing no hesitation when stepping into the box," the Draft Network's Ryan Fowler wrote in his scouting report. "His ability to stack and shed against offensive linemen speaks to his core strength and refined hand usage. His aforementioned physicality extends to his tackling, where if he’s able to grab any fiber of cloth, opponents are likely stapled to the turf."

Martin ran 4.55 at Pro Day and is a high 4.4 guy. His shuttle (4.22) + three-cone (6.85) would have finished 1st among LBs at the Combine. Also leaped a 37" vert + 10'6" broad.
The Falcons have lost two linebackers thus far in free agency -- Lorenzo Carter (Titans) and Nate Landman (Rams) -- and Matthew Judon is not expected to return now that Atlanta has signed veteran Leonard Floyd. The team also signed linebacker Divine Deablo to a two-year contract.
Last week, it was reported that Atlanta was hosting Alabama linebacker Que Robinson. The Falcons need both talent and depth on defense, and that's where they should primarily focus in this year's draft.
