The UEFA Europa League's new expanded format has been a success during the 2024-25 season and we are now in the latter stages of the knockout rounds.
Just like the reorganized UEFA Champions League, the the league phase (replacing the group stage) started with 36 teams, was then whittled down to 24 — eight straight through to the round of 16, and the other 16 headed to the playoff — then 16, and now there are eight left standing.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are still going strong on the Premier League's behalf after overcoming disappointing first legs away from home, but the competition gets much stiffer from here on out as they prepare to face Eintracht Frankfurt and Lyon, respectively, in the quarterfinals.
Bodo/Glimt, Lazio, Glasgow Rangers and Athletic Bilbao are also left in the competition as the final at Bilbao's San Mames is sure to be a beauty with a place in the Champions League (and some tidy silverware) on the line for the winner.
