DJ Lagway works out with Anthony Richardson during Florida football's spring break
The University of Florida might be currently out for spring break but the work on the field never ends for Gators stand-out quarterback DJ Lagway.
The incumbent starting quarterback and potential Heisman Trophy candidate for the Orange and Blue this coming fall has spent the off-week working out with Gainesville native and current Indianapolis Colts signal-caller Anthony Richardson this week. According to Richardson's agent, Deiric Jackson, it was the first time the two Gators have trained together despite keeping in contact since days before AR's declaration for the 2024 NFL draft.
Jackson posted a photo of Lagway and Richardson together in what appears to be a training area on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The pair are working out with Dr. Tom Gormely, the co-founder of CORTX Sports Performance. According to its website, the 4,800-square-foot custom build-out in Ponte Vedra, Florida, provides all necessary sports science technology, equipment, and recovery gear needed for professional athletes.
A testimonial from Richardson is included on that website, in which he states that "training down in Jacksonville with Tom was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made."
DJ Lagway's nagging injury
Dr. Gormely has been involved in Lagway's recovery from an undisclosed injury to his throwing shoulder — a situation that Billy Napier has stated is "not unnormal" — that has limited his spring reps so far. There also appears to be another undisclosed lower-body issue that he is working his way through.
Florida's sophomore starter has yet to throw in practice but has been healthy enough for simulated hand-off drills.
"We've got a really detailed plan. I think we laid that out," Napier recently offered. "I think the key and I kind of took some notes in practice there while he's going through this process. I think it's important that we challenge him. We still have to have a daily plan to keep him engaged. I think right now he's communicating with the other quarterbacks. He's calling in the plays in some periods, which is healthy. Seeing it from a different perspective."
