District 11 All-Star basketball games set for Newark on Friday

NEWARK — Many of the best senior basketball players from across central Ohio will take the floor again Friday at Newark’s Jimmy Allen Gymnasium for the District 11 All-Star games.

The girls are set to tip at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7:20 p.m.

Scheduled to play for one girls team are Johnstown’s Kylie Sharp, Marion Harding’s Aniyah Mitchell, Big Walnut’s Denza Allen, Pickerington North’s Dylan Hunt, Buckeye Valley’s Ella Hazelrigg, Mount Gilead’s Faith White and Delaware Christian’s Addy Beard. Coaches are Johnstown’s Scott Helmke and Buckeye Valley’s Todd Pennington.

Newark’s Braylon Morris will play on his home court one final time during Friday’s District 11 All-Star game.

Scheduled to play for the other girls team are Heath’s Payton Del Cecato, Olentangy Liberty’s Maria Stack, Olentangy Berlin’s Cami Elliott, Bloom-Carroll’s Emma Sorrell, Pleasant’s Avah Steele, Centerburg’s Kayla Larimore and Fisher Catholic’s Sydney Ellis. Utica’s Abby Dickson will appear but is injured, and coaches are Newark Catholic’s Dani Evans and Olentangy’s Klarke Ransome.

Playing for one boys team are Newark’s Braylon Morris, Licking Heights’ Kaleb Russ and Amadou Ceesay, Johnstown’s Noah Robertson, Delaware’s Landon Vanderwarker, River Valley’s Chase Ebert, Pleasant’s Lathan McCants, Centerburg’s Jack Lawrence and Trevon Harris and Northmor’s Jaxon Wenger. The coach is Fredericktown’s Derek Dibling.

Playing for the other boys team are Granville’s Carson Murphy, Licking Valley’s Kam Walker, Northridge’s Jake Davis, Granville Christian’s Zack Leija, Olentangy Liberty’s Tyler Kropp, Olentangy Orange’s Devin Brown, Buckeye Valley’s Le’Den Jones, Liberty Union’s Luke Williams, Cardington’s Journey Williamson and Warren Garrison and Fisher Catholic’s Hyde O’Rielley. Coaches are Fisher Catholic’s A.J. James and Cardington’s Jason Rice.
