Kalen DeBoer said Alabama football may be a receiver down for the rest of spring.
After the Crimson Tide's second spring scrimmage, the Alabama coach said Ryan Williams did not participate.
"Just taking care of him," DeBoer said. "We know what we have there. He might not do much the rest of the spring. There's a couple of nicks and stuff like that. If we asked him, he'd be out there, scrimmaging. He's dressed up and ready to go. Just being really careful with the things he's going through the past week or so."
As a true freshman, Williams had 865 receiving yards and eight touchdown receptions on 48 catches.
DeBoer said, along with Germie Bernard and Isaiah Horton, Williams will continue to be a "versatile guy" who can play any receiver position on the field, finding a balance between explosive, downfield plays and simply "getting the ball in his hands."

Alabama will hold its annual A Day spring game at Bryant-Denny Stadium at noon April 12.
