Paris Saint-Germain have had their eye on Osimhen for a while now, and with the summer transfer window around the corner, speculation about his next move is picking up steam.
Now at Galatasaray, Osimhen has rediscovered the form that made him one of the standout players of the 2022-23 season. He’s been on fire this campaign, racking up 28 goals and five assists in 32 matches across all competitions—numbers that have naturally caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to GIVE ME SPORT, Manchester United are starting to get nervous about PSG’s growing interest, as the French side is now viewed as the frontrunner to land the Nigerian striker.
PSG are in a strong position financially, able to meet both the reported £63 million asking price and Osimhen’s wage demands. The same report mentions that Manchester United and Chelsea both see PSG as their biggest competition for the in-form forward after his incredible season.
Could Victor Osimhen leave European football?
During a Q&A with The Athletic, David Ornstein responded to a fan by saying there’s a general feeling among Premier League clubs that the 25-year-old is most likely headed to Saudi Arabia this summer.
“There seems to be a consensus among Premier League clubs that Victor Osimhen’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia,” Ornstein wrote (h/t GIVE ME SPORT). “Part of that will be down to the affordability of his wages. But let’s see.”
According to Il Mattino, all signs are pointing toward Osimhen making a move to the Premier League. The outlet reports that Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is currently in London, where he’s holding talks with both Manchester United and Chelsea.
Napoli are reportedly open to negotiating with the two English clubs in hopes of landing a strong deal—and more importantly, keeping Osimhen out of the hands of domestic rival Juventus.
