Colts 'interest' in Trey Hendrickson still there but Bengals working to keep star DE
Another report, this time from Ian Rapoport, says that the Indianapolis Colts do have "interest" in trading for Cincinnati Bengals' star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
This comes a few days after a report from Jordan Schultz mentioned the Colts among the interested teams in Hendrickson.
While on the Pat McAfee Show recently, Rapoport mentioned that "there's interest" in regards to the Colts pursuing Hendrickson. However, Rapoport would also add that he knows the Bengals are working to keep Hendrickson and that they "would like to keep him in the building."

The challenging part in acquiring Hendrickson, whether it be the Colts or whoever else is interested, is the cost. It's going to take premium draft capital to get the deal done and Hendrickson, who is in the final year of his deal, would need an extension that Rapoport mentions could eclipse $30 million per year.
From a pure football standpoint, the trade would make all the sense in the world for the Colts. Hendrickson has been one of the most productive pass rushers in the NFL for the last four seasons, which includes leading the league in sacks in 2024, and he did so under Lou Anarumo, the new Colts' defensive coordinator.
However, as time passes, the general vibe seems to be that the Bengals and Hendrickson will end up agreeing to a new deal.
