Colts address OL in Bucky Brooks' latest 2025 NFL mock draft

In Bucky Brooks' third mock draft with NFL.com, he had the Indianapolis Colts addressing the trenches on the offensive side of the football.

With the 14th pick, Brooks had the Colts taking Alabama guard Tyler Booker.

"The beefy interior blocker specializes in moving defenders off the ball in the run game," wrote Brooks.

Booker has played over 2,000 career snaps on offense in three collegiate seasons. Most of his time has come at left guard. During that span, Booker never allowed more than 15 pressures in a season and just two total sacks.

In this most recent season specifically, Booker was PFF's ninth-highest rated pass-blocker among all guards. For what it's worth, he often graded out better in pass protection than as a run-blocker.

Of note, however, from an athletic testing standpoint, Booker's numbers would very much be an against-the-grain selection for GM Chris Ballard.

The need along the offensive line increased following free agency. With Will Fries in Minnesota, presumably, Matt Goncalves is moving from tackle to right guard, so the Colts do at least have their projected starting five on the roster already.

However, depth along the interior is a need, not to mention that competition for the starting right guard role wouldn't be a bad idea. The Colts also need to add competition at swing tackle as well.
