Mar. 21—DAVENPORT, Fla. — Madelynn Barnum led the way offensively with eight points, including scoring six unassisted goals and assisting on two others, to fuel the Clarkson women's lacrosse team to 17-9 victory over Juniata College on Thursday in a nonconference game.
Makenna Cassin tallied four points with three goals and an assist, and Brooklynne Perrigo scored three goals for the Golden Knights (5-2).
Gabby Cranfield produced two goals and an assist for Clarkson, and Sydney Nakas scored a pair of goals.
Goalie Jennaca McGill made three saves in roughly 21 minutes for the Golden Knights and Riley Donovan stopped 11 shots over the final 39 minutes.
Peyton Goodrich scored three goals for Juniata (2-4), while Devyn Mauger and Kelliann Drummond each scored twice.
SOFTBALL
ST. LAWRENCE 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 1
Sofia Berryhill threw a complete game victory as the Saints edged Southern Maine to win a nonconference game in Clermont, Fla.
Allison Kloft led the way offensively in game one, going 3-for-4 for St. Lawrence (5-2), and Emily Siansky went 2-for-2 in her first start of the season at catcher.
BATES COLLEGE 6, ST. LAWRENCE 3
Vivian Johnson and Leah VerSchneider each doubled and singled and Kloft and Madison Connelly each singled twice for the Saints (5-3) in a loss to Bates College in a nonconference game in Clermont, Fla.
JEFFERSON CC 10-5, HOWARD CC 8-3
Brianna Hardwick homered, singled twice and drove in three runs in the first game, and the Cannoneers went on to sweep Howard in nonconference play in Columbia, Md.
Darian Palmer doubled, singled and knocked in a run in the first game for Jefferson Community College (3-0), and Sophia VanHorn, Katie Call, Layla Killino and Danielle Birmingham each doubled.
Delaney Wiley went 4-for-4, including a double, and drove in a run as the Cannoneers (4-0) won the nightcap.
Also for JCC, Hardwick doubled, singled and knocked in a pair of runs and Layla Killino and Brooke Matys each tripled and Lia Canell doubled.
