College football transfer portal opens soon. Purdue has its first announced entrant

WEST LAFAYETTE — The spring transfer portal window opens on April 16 and Purdue football already has one player announcing he'll enter.

Rush end Logan Jellison posted on his social media accounts Thursday night he'll enter the portal with four years of eligibility remaining.

Jellison came to Purdue as a preferred walk-on last season.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Jellison did not play in any games.

The Indiana native was a standout athlete at Elkhart High School. Ellison's announced departure came near the end of Purdue's spring season, which culminates with a spring showcase on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Purdue coaches have said they'll be active in the spring transfer portal. The Boilermakers already added linebacker Sanders Ellis from Tennessee State.
