Chiefs scouting report: Alabama Crimson Tide OLB Que Robinson

In recent years, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted or signed plenty of talent for their defensive front, but the team lacks an explosive speed rusher capable of applying quick pressure. Fortunately, the 2025 NFL draft features one of the deepest pools of sack artists in recent history.

The Chiefs could double up at pass rusher in the 2025 NFL draft by adding a starting option in the top 100 and selecting Alabama Crimson Tide outside linebacker Que Robinson in the fourth round. Robinson is a project prospect who needs to refine his build and pass rush plan, but his tools make him an intriguing selection.

Robinson played fewer than 400 defensive snaps across his five-year career because of injuries and Alabama’s outstanding depth along the defensive front. He’s an explosive athlete who uses his rapid footwork to accelerate up the arc and beat offensive tackles with speed. Robinson sometimes converts this speed to power, using his long arms to plow through linemen.

Robinson’s pass rush plan also includes swipe counters for when his long-arm fails, twitchy chops and swipes to keep linemen out of his frame and long strides that make countering into the B-gap simple. He lacks a diverse set of refined moves and needs a year or two with a quality coach to reach his potential as a pass rusher.

Robinson must stack another ten pounds on his lean 6'4 1/4", 243 lb. frame. His play strength is developmental, which limits the effectiveness of his bull rushes. He struggles to generate any level of pass rush when faced with linemen with superior arm length. Robinson’s tall frame limits his bend and prevents him from consistently flattening rush angles to the quarterback.

Robinson offers the Chiefs a chance to land a change of pace pass rusher with the explosiveness and length to provide immediate rotational snaps. His limited experience and flashes in 2024 suggest his best days are ahead. Robinson profiles as a late round selection who could rise into the top 140 picks as teams chase long-term potential.
