The Vancouver Canucks (34-27-13) kick off the final month of the 2024-25 regular season with a matchup against the Seattle Kraken (31-38-6). The Kraken have gotten the better of the Canucks so far this season, picking up two wins in the first three games this year. While a win wouldn't vault Vancouver into a post-season spot, it would get them closer to the playoff bar, which currently sits at 88 points.

With eight games remaining, every game is a must-win for the Canucks. Wednesday is no different, as they need to pick up both points against a team that has already been eliminated from playoff contention. While a loss wouldn't eliminate Vancouver from the post-season race, it would drop their playoff odds to below 3%, making it nearly impossible for the Canucks to qualify for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Players to Watch:

Brock Boeser:

Vancouver needs a massive performance from Brock Boeser if they are going to win this game. He is one of the Canucks most dangerous forwards for a reason, and needs to find a way to contribute at least a point in this game. If Boeser can get a handful of shots on the net, he could leave Wednesday night celebrating his 25th goal of the season.

Shane Wright:

After spending some time in the AHL, Shane Wright has exploded this season with the Kraken. The former fourth overall pick from 2022 has 40 points in 72 games and is learning what it takes to become a full-time NHLer. Wright is going to be a problem for Vancouver for years to come, and, with a strong game, could help end their playoff hopes for this season.
