Seattle, WA - The Stars shined in Seattle on Monday night as Dallas stretched its winning streak to six games with a 3-1 victory over the Kraken. It was the third and final meeting between the two clubs this season. The loss extended the Kraken’s struggles against Dallas, dropping their all-time record to 2-8-2, including a 1-4-1 mark at home.
Kaapo Kakko reached a milestone by setting a new career high in points with his 14th goal of the season in the first period, bringing his total to 41 points—tied for fourth among all Kraken players. It was his 10th goal since being traded from the New York Rangers in mid-December for defenseman Will Borgen. However, the Stars quickly responded, with Matt Duchene scoring the equalizer for Dallas with his 29th goal of the season in the first period.
The game shifted late in the first period when Wyatt Johnston scored his 30th goal of the season, extending his impressive streak to five consecutive games with a goal. This gave the Stars a 2-1 lead. In the third period, Mikael Granlund sealed the win for Dallas with an empty-net goal, securing the 3-1 victory and keeping the Stars' playoff hopes strong.
The Kraken hit the road for the last away trip of regular season before returning home on April 12th for the final homestand.
