All signs are pointing towards a punter competition this offseason for the Buffalo Bills.
The team signed punter Brad Robbins on Monday, per Ian Rapaport.

Robbins was a former sixth-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023. He is a 26-year-old who was once one of the top punting prospects coming out of the University of Michigan. He has 76 career punts in the NFL, all coming in 2023. He landed on injured reserve to start the 2024 season after an injury to his hip flexor and was waived in October once he became healthy.
His average of 44.3 yards per punt ranked 33rd in the NFL in 2023 among punters who had at least 400 net yards. His 20 punts landed inside the 20 yard line ranked tied for 23rd in the NFL.
These numbers suggest Robbins doesn't have a powerful leg, but he did rank 27th in the NFL in punt return yards allowed. In other words, he won't wow you by booting the ball 65 yards down the field, but he can provide a safe floor by giving hang time and placement to now allow a big return.
Buffalo's punter from last season, Sam Martin, has found a new home with the Carolina Panthers after being released by the Bills earlier this offseason.
Before agreeing to terms with Robbins, the Bills signed punter Jake Camarda to a reserve/futures contract in January. Like Robbins, Camarda was released in October of the 2024 season. In 2023, Camarda had 77 punts for an average of 50.1 yards and landed 26 of them inside the 20 yard line.
The Bills could also be looking to the draft or an undrafted free agent to bring in more competition at punter, but it appears they're going to let at least a couple of guys duke it out in training camp.
