GM Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills front office have gotten to work adding talent and competition to various position groups, aiming to address needs and fortify the roster ahead of the NFL Draft.
The team is among the top group in terms of total picks going into the draft and has future capital to work with as well, which realistically puts them in position to focus on moving on the board as needed to make the most efficient and strongest picks to bring immediate contributors and difference-makers to Buffalo with their selections.
It also allows them to potentially make some bold moves in the early rounds in order to continue to get younger and improve at key positions and hit on this year's picks.
They can also continue to add to areas of need through later waves of free agency, the undrafted talent pool, and via roster cuts or trades.
With that, here are six positions the Bills could address this offseason:
Defensive Tackle
The draft is deep at defensive tackle, meaning that some of the top players could slide down the board within range of the Bills.
The team has added some depth and rotation talent to the trenches already on short-term deals in free agency. Brandon Beane could seize the opportunity to further fortify the line with disruptive talent and run defense.
The popular choice has been Michigan DT Kenneth Grant, who Buffalo should go up and get in the draft if possible.
Corner
Bringing Dane Jackson back in to provide more reliable depth at the corner position across from Christian Benford is a start, but the Bills still have irons in the fire to add to the position.
Amidst an oversaturated and stagnant free agent market for secondary players on account of how deep the draft is at defensive back, re-signing Rasul Douglas is a possibility, as is inking another free agent fit like Asante Samuel Jr.
Though if the team comes to terms with neither, they could just as easily turn to the draft early for more cap-friendly talent, or later waves of free agency, a trade, or see who becomes available during roster cuts later in the offseason.
Defensive End
Adding Joey Bosa on a one-year deal was a big get that brought in the type of game-wrecker that the Bills were looking for and that opposing teams will need to gameplan for.
But the edge rusher is on a one-year deal, and while the Bills have added in recent offseasons some developmental talent to the position group in the draft and short-term deals in free agency, they could look to add someone who could contribute behind the trio of Bosa, Rousseau, and Epenesa.
The team does appear to have interest in Arkansas draft prospect
