Washington Wizards rookie Bub Carrington registered another franchise record on Thursday after setting a new career high in scoring in a loss against the Orlando Magic.
Carrington produced 32 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the 109-97 loss at Capital One Arena. He finished by shooting 12-of-18 from the field, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, in 36 minutes as the Wizards dropped to 2-8 over their last 10 games.
The 14th pick surpassed Bradley Beal for the most 3-pointers in a single game by a rookie in franchise history (6; 2012-13). He became the ninth rookie to score 30 points in a game this season and is the second to add at least five rebounds and five assists (Alexandre Sarr).

Carrington is averaging 9.5 points, 4.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds on 34.4% shooting from 3-point range in 77 games, including 52 starts, with the Wizards. He leads all rookies in minutes per game (29.5) and has the second-most games with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists (6).
The 19-year-old on March 27 set the rookie franchise record for 3-pointers in a season, passing Corey Kispert. He is up to 128, which, along with Kyshawn George (107) and Sarr (100), makes the Wizards the only team in history with three first-year players to hit at least 100 3s in a season.
The Wizards are the first team since the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021-22 season to have three rookies average at least 25 minutes per game (Carrington, George, Sarr). They have struggled to pick up wins, but appear to have identified cornerstone players they can build around.
