The Denver Broncos seem to have completed their splash moves in free agency this year, but a few budget signings could still be on the way.
With the NFL draft now just over three weeks away, the Broncos could still use more playmakers at wide receiver. If they want to give themselves more flexibility on draft day, Denver could sign a veteran WR now and draft the best player available in the draft, regardless of position.
The Broncos showed at least some level of interest in Stefon Diggs and Cooper Kupp last month, suggesting that Denver is open to adding a veteran WR -- if the price is right.
KUSA-TV's Mike Klis has name-dropped two receivers who "could make sense" for the Broncos in Keenan Allen (soon to be 33) and Elijah Moore (just turned 25).
Allen is coming off a 70-catch, 744-yard season with seven touchdowns in a woeful Chicago Bears offense. Moore is a former second-round draft pick who has failed to live up to his draft day hype, but he posted a respectable 120-catch, 1,178-yard, three-touchdown stat line in two years (34 games) with the Cleveland Browns.
Klis wasn't reporting anything is imminent, but Allen and Moore will be two WRs worth monitoring as we get closer to the NFL draft. Last year, Denver signed cornerback Levi Wallace and traded for quarterback Zach Wilson three days before the draft. We'll see if the Broncos patch up any roster holes just before this year's draft (
