Breaking down Jaguars' picks in Field Yates' latest 2-round NFL mock draft

ESPN's Field Yates put together his first two-round mock draft of the 2025 NFL draft cycle. So who did he have the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting?

Let's break down Yates' selections for the Jaguars and give our instant takeaways.

Jaguars pick at No. 5: Mason Graham, IDL, Michigan

A very popular pick for the Jaguars, especially after free agency, where even with 10 outside additions made, none were along the defensive line. This is a unit that GM James Gladstone said he wants to prioritize and is a group that ranked 32nd last season in ESPN's pass rush win rate and 27th in run stop rate.

Graham tallied 34 pressures and five sacks last season, but was at his best against the run, ranking first among all interior defenders in PFF's run defense grade and second in run-stop rate. When there is a strong interior presence, every other defender on the field benefits from the push that player generates, the blocks they take on, and the space they eat up.

"Jacksonville has big needs up front on defense that are too hard to ignore with this pick, and Graham would immediately reshape the complexion of both the pass rush and the run defense," Yates wrote.

Jaguars pick at 36: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

The addition of Jourdan Lewis, which allows Jarrian Jones to move to the boundary, provided some stability at cornerback. However, there is still a need for the Jaguars. There should be competition for Jones for those starting snaps, not to mention that improved depth is needed as well.

Amos has played 2,459 career defensive snaps, which includes one season at Alabama and the most recent season at Ole Miss. During those two SEC seasons, Amos allowed a completion rate of just 48% on 82 targets and held opponents to roughly 10 yards per catch, including just 8.8 yards per reception in 2024.

In terms of ball production, Amos had three interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 2024 alone.

"Jacksonville could continue to chip away on defense. Amos blends 6-foot-1 size, 4.43 speed and great ball skills," Yates wrote. "He stood out for Ole Miss this past season with three interceptions after stops at Alabama and Louisiana."
