Apr. 11—DICKINSON — All in all, Friday was not a bad day to be out golfing.
The Blue Jays placed eighth out of 11 competing teams at their season opening competition in Dickinson. Jamestown shot a collective 356. Bismarck Century won the season opener with a 319. Quinn Shillingstad of St. Mary's shot a two-under 70 to take home top honors. Head coach Don Walz and company will be back in action on Tuesday at the Century/Legacy Invite at Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck. Golfers are set to tee off at 10 a.m.
Jace Dillman led the Blue Jays carding a 85. Dillman was followed closely by Luke LeFevre who shot an 87. Nate Walz and Griffin Gegelman scored a 92 while Vaughn Romsdal finished his day with a 99. Riley Schlafman rounded out the 6-man team with a 109.
