Apr. 4—Austin Public Schools has announced that AHS Activities Director Katie Carter has been recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Athletic Administrator.
To earn this distinction, Carter demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration.
"Earning my Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certification is more than a professional achievement — it's a commitment to continued education, growth, and excellence," Carter said. "As a role model for high school students, I believe in leading by example, showing that learning never stops and that dedication to improvement is the foundation of success. I've always been a lifelong learner, and through continued education I have the opportunity to elevate my leadership, strengthen our programs, and ensure the best experience for our athletes and coaches."
The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience, and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination, and Carter is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.
"Katie's NIAAA certification reflects her drive, professionalism, and commitment to building strong athletic programs that put students first," said Austin Superintendent Dr. Joey Page. "We're excited to see the continued success of our athletic programming and what the future holds for our students."
