Auburn showing early interest in Syracuse transfer Eddie Lampkin

Auburn is eyeing a starting center for the 2025-26 season due to Dylan Cardwell's departure. One potential suitor is a big man from the ACC.

According to a report by League Ready, Auburn is among the many programs that have reached out to former Syracuse center Eddie Lampkin about joining their rosters through the transfer portal. Auburn joins other power programs such as Arkansas, Virginia, Texas A&M, and USC that are showing early interest in the 6-11 center.

Lampkin just completed his fourth full season of basketball, which was his best stat-wise. He scored 11.5 points and hauled in 9.6 rebounds for the Orange this season in 32 games. He originally signed with TCU ahead of the 2020-21 season, and would spend three seasons with the Horned Frogs program. He transferred from TCU to Colorado following the 2023-24 season and later transferred to Syracuse for the 2024-25 season.

In just over four seasons as a collegiate athlete, Lampkin is averaging 8.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 58.4% from the field. He has scored over 10 points per game over the last two seasons, including his 10.6 point average during his lone season at Colorado in 2023-24.

Lampkin is a target to replace the outgoing Dylan Cardwell. The fan favorite scored 5.0 points and hauled in 5.1 rebounds per game in his first season as a full-time starter. The current transfer portal window will remain open until April 22. In that span, Auburn will search for experienced pieces to fill the voids from last season's Final Four roster, especially in the Tigers' frontcourt.
