Auburn makes top-five list of Florida State transfer forward Malique Ewin

Auburn is in a great position to land a stellar transfer from an ACC program following a top-five reveal.

Malique Ewin, a junior forward formerly of Florida State, recently included Auburn in his top five transfer destinations, according to Joe Tipton of On3. Auburn joins Virginia, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Kansas as programs that remain in the mix to land the talented forward.

Ewin signed with Ole Miss as the No. 20 center from the 2022 recruiting cycle out of Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia. He transferred to South Plains Community College after one year in Oxford, then re-joined the NCAA ranks as the No. 1 JUCO center in 2024, when he signed with Florida State.

As a junior at FSU, Ewin led the team in rebounds with 7.6 per game and was the second-leading scorer behind Jamir Watkins with 14.2 points per game. In 30 games with the Seminoles, he averaged 26 minutes on the floor and shot 60% from the field. He attempted just one three-point bucket this season, and shot 65% from the free throw stripe.

Auburn has added one transfer so far this cycle, former UCF forward Keyshawn Hall. The Tigers are in pursuit of several other transfer targets, including former Syracuse center Eddie Lampkin and Sam Houston State guard transfer Lamar Wilkerson. The current transfer portal window remains open until Tuesday, April 22.
