Based on their 41-41 record and a No. 11 ranking among 15 Western Conference teams during the previous 2023-24 season, the Houston Rockets weren't scheduled for many national television appearances prior to the 2024-25 campaign.
But with a current record of 48-26 and a perch at No. 2 in the West standings, the 2024-25 Rockets have increasingly forced their way into the national conversation. With some flexible scheduling available, that prompted the NBA and its broadcast partners to give Houston a few more national slots as the year has progressed.
Now, as the regular season winds down, it's about to pick up even more.
Starting Sunday in Phoenix, four of Houston's next seven games will be nationally televised.
NBA TV will air Houston's games this Sunday (at Suns, 8:00 p.m. Central tipoff), April 6 (at Golden State Warriors, 7:30 p.m. Central), and April 11 (at Los Angeles Lakers, 9:30 p.m. Central). Meanwhile, TNT will show this Monday's game (at Lakers, 9:00 p.m. Central).
Depending on the standings implications, it's possible that Houston's regular-season finale (at home versus Denver on April 13) could also be picked up for a nationally televised audience. The Nuggets are currently right behind the Rockets at No. 3 in the West standings.
From there, once the 2025 playoffs begin, all of Houston's games will be made available to a national audience. So, even though the Rockets haven't been too visible on a national scale for most of this season, it's about to change in the weeks ahead — and perhaps the marquee games down the home stretch of the regular season will help Houston's relatively young roster get used to the spotlight.
With the exception of the March 31 TNT game (a national exclusive), all games will still be shown via Space City Home Network (SCHN), as well. SCHN is Houston's regional broadcast network, and it is jointly owned by both the Rockets and Major League Baseball's Astros. SCHN, which is available in local markets on fubo TV (free trial), will also have rights to air its own Rockets broadcasts for the first round of the playoffs.
