According to a report from MARCA, Dani Ceballos is on track to make a timely return from injury, and the recovery has been nothing short of exceptional.

The midfielder, who was once ruled out for an extended period, is now in contention for the second leg of the Champions League quarter final against Arsenal and could also feature in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

It must be noted that Ceballos sustained a muscle injury on 27 February, which affected the tendon. At the time, it was assumed he would miss all of the most important fixtures in the spring.

That meant sitting out the Champions League round of 16 clash against Atletico Madrid, the quarter final stage if Madrid progressed, and both the semi-final and potential final of the Copa del Rey.

Early predictions suggested he would not be fully fit until May.

Ceballos has proved everyone wrong

However, from the very beginning, Ceballos remained determined. He promised a faster return and stuck to a strict and careful recovery plan.

His dedication is now paying off. After weeks of intense rehabilitation and training with caution, the midfielder has rejoined the group dynamic

He was already back in training last Friday and continues to take steps forward without rushing or risking a setback. The target date for his full return has been set for 16 April.

Ready to make an impact

While he will indeed miss the first-leg of UCL quarter-final against Arsenal, his comeback could not be timed better. Ceballos had already made 30 appearances this season before his injury.

In fact, the year 2025 was shaping up to be his breakout year at Real Madrid, and now he has a chance to pick up where he left off.

His absence has been felt deeply in recent matches, particularly in games where Madrid struggled to maintain control in midfield.

With important trophies on the line, Carlo Ancelotti now sees Ceballos as an option again—a player who can bring balance, composure, and energy when it is needed most.
