A look at the opening week of spring sports and vote for Lenawee Athlete of the Week

Schools in Lenawee County are back in session after spring break, which means the spring sportsseason is now in full swing.

Here are the highlights of opening week and vote for your Lenawee County Athlete of the Week:

BASEBALL

Tecumseh topped Temperance Bedford in a season-opening doubleheader, 8-7 and 3-1.

Rocco Williams had four hits with six RBIs while Austin Kane got the Game 1 win in relief before Logan Ware gave up a run, on two hits and five walks while striking out four in the Game 2 win, which was called after five innings due to darkness.

Madison swept a doubleheader with Manchester, 10-0 and 3-2. Cole Grof got the win in Game 1, going 2.2 innings and giving up three hits and a walk while striking out six and had two hits with an RBI while Cam Barber had two hits with two RBIs.

Bryson Ballantyne got the win, giving up two runs, on two hits and two walks while striking out five before Norman Frederick got the save with a shutout third inning as the game was ended due to weather.

Addison started the season sweeping Camden Frontier, 4-1 and 7-6.

Josh Ray had four RBIs on the day with a double while Jacob Wright went 4.1 innings, giving up a run, on no hits and a walk while striking out six to get the win in Game 1 and had two hits in Game 2 while Logan Jewell got the win, going three innings and giving up two runs, on one hit and one walk while striking out five.
