5 49ers stories from the week for Arizona Cardinals fans to know

We have reached the end of another week in the NFL offseason and the end of March. It is time to check in with the rest of the NFC West and see what has been going on with the Arizona Cardinals' division rivals.

What is there to know about the San Francisco 49ers?

Below are a few stories from the last week about the Niners that Cardinals fans should know.

Trey Lance headed to Canadian League?

At one time, the 49ers gave up three first-round picks to move up in the draft to select quarterback Trey Lance thrid overall. He didn't work out. He was traded to the Dallas Cowboys and hasn't done anything since then. Now a free agent and without any apparent interest from NFL teams, he could be heading north to play in the CFL.

Oddsmakers believe in Niners in 2025

This past week multiple sportsbooks released projected win totals for 2025. Coming off a bad season in which the Niners finished in last place in the NFC West, they have the highest projected win total for the 2025 in the division.

Brandon Aiyuk injury update

Aiyuk is rehabbing a torn ACL and more that he suffered in Week 7. While that might normally have a player ready to play the next season, this report suggests it might be midseason before he comes back.

Aiyuk trade unlikely

The Niners have apparently had talks with a few teams about their injured receiver, ESPN's Adam Schefter doesn't believe any trade will materialize as there is a hard deadline in which Aiyuk is due a $22 million bonus. They would trade him after that.
