3 free-agent centers Seahawks could still target during second wave
The Seattle Seahawks have shown interest in free-agent centers. General manager John Schneider has decided against making an actual move at the position though. The Seahawks hosted veteran guard/center Lucas Patrick on a visit earlier this month. Patrick previously played for new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak in New Orleans. That relationship couldn't bring him to Seattle though, as he ultimately signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The free-agent market still possesses depth and competition options behind current starter Olu Oluwatimi. Will Schneider pivot and add a veteran player to the mix? We've identified three centers who remain available in free agency.
Daniel Brunskill
Daniel Brunskill played more than 600 snaps in relief for the Tennessee Titans last season, 463 at center. One of his coaches with the Titans in 2024 was new Seahawks offensive assistant Justin Outten. Brunskill began his career with the San Francisco 49ers, and is an excellent athlete for Kubiak's scheme with center-guard versatility.
Trystan Colon
Trystan Colon is another veteran with guard-center flexibility. He played in the NFC West for the Arizona Cardinals last season. Colon was credited with allowing zero sacks and just 12 pressures in 372 snaps last season. He was whistled for just one single penalty.
Nick Gates
Nick Gates could be a reclamation project after playing for legendary Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland last season. Gates was a swing backup in Philly, but the Seahawks require better depth across the interior. His experience would be an asset.
