In college football, you have to have superstars, and if Brad Crawford of 247Sports is correct, Notre Dame has one on its roster.
Running back Jeremiyah Love was named as the No. 10 best player in the country according to Crawford, the only one at his position to make the list. He went on to say that “we’re expecting Love to transform into more of high-volume back this fall prior to his expected entry into the NFL.”
It’s interesting that Crawford points out Love’s usage, as he did had 191 touches this past fall, although there were four games where he had less than 10. The idea is to keep him fresh, especially with the potential of another long season.
There does seem to be an emphasis to get Love the ball in his hands more, as he has been repping with the wide receivers this spring. If he averages around 15 touches-per-game, he very well could be getting an invitation to New York for the Heisman Trophy Award crowning.
