12-run first powers Whitefish past Plains-Hot Springs

Apr. 12—PLAINS — Ryan Conklin tripled and Whitefish capitalized on nine first inning walks to defeat Plains-Hot Springs 23-0 in high school baseball Friday.

Conklin was one of 10 Bulldog batters to drive in a run during the game, which ended after three innings due to the run rule. Max Barone drove in three to lead Whitefish (4-0), including a two-run double in the third.

Tait Orme tossed two innings for the Bulldogs, allowing one hit and striking out six. B Barker threw one no-hit inning, fanning three batters.

The loss drops Plains-Hot Springs to 0-3 on the season.
