It appeared Toronto FC was going to take a shock lead into the break against Inter Miami this evening in south Florida, but Lionel Messi had other plans.
Javier Mascherano's side were dominant throughout the first-half, but they were stunned the dying minutes when Federico Bernardeschi nabbed a late goal for the shock lead.
The stunner came just minutes after Leo Messi saw his opener chalked off by VAR for a foul in the box, much to the chagrin of the home side.

When it looked like the Herons would head into the break in a hole, Messi did what Messi does and responded in kind, lashing the ball into the net with nearly the last kick of the half.
IMMEDIATE RESPONSE FROM MESSI. 💥

Toronto have been a thorn in Miami's side for a number of years now, and it appears we may have another MLS classic unfolding at Chase Stadium!
Buckle up, people!
