Der Klassiker held up to its name after Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund battled to a 2-2 draw at Allianz Arena.

Scorers: Guerreiro 65', Gnabry 69'; Beier 48', Anton 75'

Bayern were at their expected and dominant best in the opening exchanges, with Vincent Kompany's men probing with intent in search of an opener.

Despite being in full control in front of home support, Bayern were unable to punch through before the interval, holding Die Schwarzgelben to just 0.07 xG across 45 minutes of action.

Dortmund would take a shock lead just three minutes after the break through Maximilian Beier during the run of play, with the German forward rising over Kim Min-jae to head home.

Niko Kova膰's outfit looked a better version of themselves after the interval in the wake of what was a poor opening 45 minutes, with Bayern unlucky to not find an opener themselves.

The home side would ultimately pull back level, though, with substitute and former Dortmund man Rapha毛l Guerreiro bagging the equaliser in the 66th minute, with Thomas M眉ller turning provider in the process.

And just like that, Bayern would take the lead four minutes later through Serge Gnabry, who came on to replace Leroy San茅 just before Guerreiro's strike.

But Dortmund remained keen to find a result on their away day in Bavaria and leveled matters in the 75th minute, this time thanks to a Waldemar Anton finish after Jonas Urbig could only parry Serhou Guirassy's chance.

Neither side were able to find a late winner in Bavaria, with Kompany surely to be left frustrated after such a dominant performance in the opening 45 minutes failed to set the stage for a three-point haul.

Dortmund will likely be happy with an away point as their late-season push for the European places continues.
