Bill O'Reilly: 'Unusual' both campaigns think they'll win
(NewsNation) — Political commentator Bill O'Reilly said Monday that it's "unusual" that both the Vice President Harris and former President Trump believe they will win the 2024 presidential election based on internal polling.
O'Reilly contrasted this with the 2016 election, where he said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's campaign was confident of a landslide victory, while many in the Trump campaign thought they would lose.
"Both campaigns, at this point, with six weeks left, believe they're going to win," O'Reilly said on NewsNation's "On Balance." "That's unusual."
O'Reilly cited internal polling from firms like Trafalgar and Rasmussen as the basis for the Trump campaign's optimism. He did not specify the source of the Harris campaign's confidence.
The former Fox News host also revealed that both the former president and vice president have agreed to separate interviews with CBS's "60 Minutes."
Regarding recent campaign rhetoric, O'Reilly defended Trump's comments about Jewish voters and women's dissatisfaction, saying Trump was citing polls and describing "common psychology."
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's polling index shows Harris leading Trump by 3.6 points — or 50.3 percent to 46.7 percent.
