Watch live: Senate HELP committee grills Novo Nordisk on weight loss drug pricing
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, is set to grill Novo Nordisk CEO Lars Jorgenson Tuesday morning over prices on the drugmaker's popular weight loss drugs, including Ozempic and Wegovy.
The drugs, which both contain the active ingredient semaglutide, are also used to treat type 2 diabetes.
Sanders launched an investigation into the company's prices earlier this year, laying out concerns over various price discrepancies between the drugs and between different countries.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
