In 2022, solo developer Daniel Stubbington released the Portal-like puzzle game The Entropy Centre through his Stubby Games label. Now, Stubbington has announced that his next game, Void Breaker, is entering an open test right now. And judging from the announcement trailer below, this is one great-looking first-person shooter.
The trailer begins on an ominous note by mentioning that machines will only follow "the rules we set--until they learn to set their own." The one thing that the AI didn't count on is that the players' characters may be able to break that cycle with customized weapons and unforeseen tactics.
As demonstrated in the trailer, players can modify their weapons into engines of chaos and the entire environment can be brought down around them. Destruction isn't literally the name of the game, but it's definitely a big part of the gameplay experience.
