As you explore the world of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you'll acquire countless armaments and accessories to further empower your characters. There are a select few that have truly exceptional effects, and we'd go so far as to state that some are likely to define your build. Here's our guide on where to find all unique items in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
All unique items in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The Dragon Age: The Veilguard unique items are scattered in various regions across Thedas, and even the Crossroads in the Fade. Here's a quick summary:
- Vendor wares - Some unique items in the game can be purchased from vendors, but you need to increase a faction's strength and shop rank. We've got more details for you in our factions guide.
- General exploration/visible on the map - Those that are acquired through general exploration can be seen on your map. Compared to other kinds of loot, unique items have chest icons with three smaller spikes/protrusions, akin to a crown. Likewise, Rook opens them using the Lyrium Dagger.
- Quest rewards - There are also a few other unique items that are obtained as quest rewards.
Note that unique items are different from regular items in the game world. They cannot be upgraded, but you can enchant them via the Caretaker's Workshop at the Lighthouse.
In any case, our Dragon Age: The Veilguard unique items guide is organized by region and category. Also, please note that our Rook is a Warrior, which means certain item rewards might be different in case you're playing as a Rogue or Mage.
Arlathan Forest #1: Iron Veil
- Location: At the eastern portion of this zone, you'll see an island in the middle of a pond. Eventually, you'll gain access to the surrounding area, where you have to bring crystals to activate three beam turrets. The beam turrets need to hit the crystalline receptacles on the structures, which then allow you to cross the stream. Take out the Guardian of Secrets enemy to claim your reward.
- Equipment slot/type: Light helmet
- Stats: +44 defense and +30% ability damage.
- Effects: Whenever an enemy dies, it spawns an apparition that attacks enemies and deals necrotic damage.
Arlathan Forest #2: Fade-Touched Bulwark

- Effects: When you perform a perfect defense, nearby enemies are pulled toward you.
Hossberg Wetlands #1: Wedge of Destiny (Aged 10 Years)
- Location: Continue along the blight-covered tunnels that lead to the southern part of the region. Note that this section was inaccessible early on, though we later noticed that we could enter it. We surmise that this may have been because we had completed all Grey Warden quests in the area.
- Equipment slot/type: Shield
- Stats: +80 physical damage; +80 stagger.
- Effects: +10 shield toss bounces; has very low base damage but ignores defense; Shield Toss bounces may hit the enemy multiple times.
