Since A Minecraft Movie was released in theaters, there have been plenty of videos emerging from screenings showing moviegoers yelling, screaming, throwing popcorn, and even bringing a live chicken with them. In at least one case, the police were called to kick out rowdy teens amid reports of vandalism. Director Jared Hess has now reacted to the... passionate response from viewers.
Speaking to EW, Hess said, "It's weird when you're having too much fun and the cops get called."
The director went on to say "it's just literally cheering and throwing popcorn," so he found it funny that the cops were called. "Yeah, it's hilarious. I've seen so many funny videos. It's great, especially when people are climbing on their friends' shoulders and standing up and cheering for those moments," he said.
