Wisconsin basketball March Madness prediction: A look at where the Badgers could land after UCLA win
INDIANAPOLIS – Wisconsin helped its cause Friday.
The question is how much.
The Badgers’ 86-70 victory over UCLA in a Big Ten quarterfinal at Gainbridge Fieldhouse gave the team its seventh Quad 1 win of the season.
Here is what that win could mean to its placement in the NCAA Tournament field.
Likely scenario for Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament: No. 3 or No. 4 seed
The Badgers are now 7-7 against Quad 1 teams and 17-8 in Quad 1 and Quad 2 matchups combined. UCLA entered the day No. 24 in NET rankings.
What the win Friday does for UW is solidify its position of being at least a No. 4 seed. Depending on what bracketologist you believe, the Badgers have already done enough to earn a No. 3 seed. A win vs. Michigan State Saturday will solidify that but a loss shouldn’t hurt UW's standing.
