In his career, Verdugo has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In 2025, he signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves. Verdugo has said it is his family life, though, that brings him the greatest fulfillment.

Their oldest, son Efrain, was born on March 16, 2017. The proud mom celebrated her firstborn’s birthday on Instagram in 2025.
“Happy 8TH Birthday to our big hearted, little genius, sweet, loving, funny boy 🥹 I can’t believe you’re EIGHT!!!” she wrote. “We are so proud of you my love! Keep being you baby. To many many more. We love you so so much!!! 🥹🥰🫶🏽♥️”
Verdugo and Alcala welcomed their second son, A.J., around 2021. The baseball player often shares videos of his middle child taking after him, including in July 2024 when Verdugo shared a video on Instagram of A.J. in batting practice.
