Next up on the schedule for the Alabama Crimson Tide in SEC baseball play is a trip to the Plains for another Top 25 matchup, this time against the Auburn Tigers.

Alabama (26-4 overall, 6-3 SEC) jumped to No. 8 in this week's Top 25 rankings, including the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll where they rose three spots. The Crimson Tide took two of three from No. 9 Oklahoma last week at Sewell-Thomas Stadium thanks to an 8-6 victory on Sunday.

Kade Snell leads Alabama at the plate with a .421 average to go with five homers, eight doubles and 24 RBIs in 29 games this season. Auburn (20-9, 4-5), ranked No. 17 in the Coaches Poll, enters the day having dropped four straight after being swept at third-ranked Georgia last weekend and falling 4-2 to UAB in its midweek game on Tuesday. Cooper McMurray leads the Tigers at the plate with a .358 average and is tied with catcher and first-round MLB Draft prospect Ike Irish (.337 AVG) for the team lead in home runs (seven) and doubles (eight).

Heading into the series, Alabama is batting .306 as a team, good for fifth in the SEC. The Crimson Tide's 4.14 staff ERA ranks eighth. Auburn's .300 team average at the plate is eighth in the conference, while their 4.68 ERA as a staff is 11th.
