SELINSGROVE — Opening night of racing at Selinsgrove Speedway, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed, according to track officials.
After two rounds of open practice were canceled over the past week, track promoters Friday morning announced the delay of the 2025 season opener on social media.
"In the best interest of our teams, fans, and employees and due to the saturated grounds, cold temperatures, and more rain on the way, we are going to cancel our Grand Re-Opening," promoters posted on Facebook Friday morning.
The 79th season of the Selinsgrove Speedway was scheduled to open under new promoters, Snyder County Dirt (SCD) Management Group, with 410 Sprint cars and Super Late Models scheduled.
"We are working hard to find a date to reschedule this 410 and SLM show, even though it won't be the season opener," promoters wrote Friday morning. "As soon as we find a date, we will let you all know."

The next scheduled show is Friday, April 18. That program is set to feature Super Late Models, Limited Late Models and Roadrunners. Gates and pits open at 5:30 p.m. with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m. The Joe Whitcomb Memorial is set for Saturday, April 26.
Willams Grove also had its Friday night slate washed out due to saturated grounds, cold temperatures and the expectation for significant rain.
The make-up opening night 410 sprint car feature that was to be completed on April 11 will now be run as part of the April 18 Tommy Hinnershitz Classic at the track.
