WATCH: Get to know New York Jets LB Jamien Sherwood

Jamien Sherwood is going to be a staple on the New York Jets defense for the foreseeable future.

Sherwood inked a three-year extension in New York. He did so prior to even hitting the free agent market. Sherwood must have liked what he saw coming for the Jets if he didn't even test the market.

Sherwood earned his deal after a breakout 2024 season. He notched two sacks, three passes defended and was among football's leading tacklers with 158 including 10 for loss. Pro Football Focus graded Sherwood as the 18th best linebacker in the entire NFL. Next Gen Stats credited Sherwood with only 13 missed tackles all of last season.

Those are great numbers, but seeing as Sherwood will be an important piece moving forward for the Jets, why not get to know him more now?
