Watch: Alabama basketball opens with alley-oop dunk vs Kentucky in SEC Tournament
Alabama men's basketball started its SEC tournament quarterfinal against Kentucky with quite the statement.
After getting the opening tip-off, Crimson Tide guard Labron Philon found Clifford Omoruyi's streaking along the baseline and open inside the paint for the alley-oop dunk over Kentucky guard Andrew Carr.
Omoruyi's emphatic alley-ooop dunk was one of two dunks that he provided on Alabama's 6-2 run over Kentucky to open up the game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The Rutgers transfer has been a presence inside the paint for the Crimson Tide this season on both ends of the floor, as he entered the night averaging 7.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

REQUIRED READING: Score updates for Alabama basketball vs Kentucky in SEC Tournament: Game highlights, how to watch
As previously noted by The Tuscaloosa News, Alabama and Kentucky have their fair share of history against each other in the SEC tournament. The Wildcats have eliminated the Crimson Tide from the conference tournament in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
A victory on Friday would be a massive win not just for Alabama's case for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but also in its series history against Kentucky. It would mark the first time Alabama has beaten Kentucky three times in the same season.
If the Crimson Tide can prevail, Nate Oats' squad would face No. 2 seed Florida in the second semifinal on Saturday. The Gators defeated Missouri 95-81 before the Crimson Tide-Wildcats game at Bridgestone Arena on Friday.
